RICEponsible Schools Celebrate Nutrition Month 2017

Two of the recipients of 2016 Be RICEponsible School Awards are still on their mission of promoting a healthy lifestyle and eating brown rice in their respective areas.

The Be RICEponsible Schools, Malabon National High School (MNHS) and Sto. Crito Elementary School (SCES) are one with the nation in celebrating Nutrition Month 2017 with the theme “Healthy diet, gawing habit for life!

The Malabon National High School inaugurated its Be RICEponsible Greenhouse and Feeding Room during the opening program and ribbon cutting ceremony held on the school grounds, July 3, 2017.

Students of MNHS prepared and served healthy delicacies made of brown rice and other food staples. Festive booths and interactive presentation were also present in the activity. The school’s month-long celebration include brown rice feeding, awareness events, among other activities.

Meanwhile,  Sto. Cristo Elementary School culminated its nutrition month celebration with lots of activities that promote nutritious meals featuring brown rice.

Students showcased the habit of eating and living healthy in their performances. The program included competitions in best costume, slogan-making, and parent-child cooking using brown rice. Local officials, parents, and the Be RICEponsible team graced the celebration.

The SCES Canteen has been notified by the media for its healthy way of offering meals especially brown rice to students . Net 25 covered the SCES’ event which was aired on their news program, Mata ng Agila on July 20, 6:30pm.
